Wraqi National Unified Test

The Iraqi National Unified Examination represents a standardized assessment system administered under the direction of the Research and Development Directorate of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This testing framework is essential for individuals pursuing graduate studies (Master’s and PhD programs), as it evaluates core competencies required for academic success. The system comprises three key components: Iraqi National English Language Test (INELT), Iraqi National Computer Proficiency Test (INCPT), Unified National Arabic Language Test. These examinations are conducted centrally, typically at authorized university testing centers such as the Computer Center at Nineveh University, and adhere to strict regulations regarding scheduling, registration, fees, and passing scores.

Iraqi National English Language Test (INELT)

The Iraqi National Unified English Language Test (INELT) aims to assess applicants’ English language skills. According to information provided by the Computer Center at the University of Nineveh, the test is administered at their facility. The examination lasts for exactly one hour. Prospective applicants must register and book their appointments electronically through the official portal inpt.rdd.edu.iq. After online booking, candidates are required to visit the test center in person to confirm their reservation within 72 hours of the scheduled test date; failure to do so will result in cancellation of the booking. Strict rules are enforced during the test, prohibiting mobile phones or any test-related materials. Candidates must present either their Unified National Card or Civil Status ID for verification upon arrival. The certificate awarded upon passing the test remains valid for two years from the test date. The fee structure includes an initial cost of 30,000 Iraqi dinars for the first attempt. If the candidate does not pass, subsequent attempts are available at a reduced fee of 20,000 Iraqi dinars. Tests are typically scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays, although this schedule is subject to the Ministry’s directives.

Iraqi National Computer Proficiency Test (INCPT)

The Iraqi National Computer Proficiency Test (INCPT) assesses applicants’ basic computer skills. The test consists of 40 questions and lasts 60 minutes. The curriculum covers a range of fundamental topics, including computer basics and the Windows operating system (covering device types, components, security, viruses, licensing, OS fundamentals, desktop, windows, control panel, software installation/uninstallation, folders, files, deletion/recovery), Microsoft Word 2016 (usage, document creation, selection/editing, text/paragraph formatting, print setup, spell check, printing), Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 (interface, design methods, slide types, adding/duplicating slides, object types, hiding slides, final presentation, slide content), Microsoft Excel 2016 (introduction, interface, editing, functions, formatting, settings, printing), and internet and email concepts (internet, networks, world wide web, browser settings, search engines, ICT applications, email, message creation, computer protection, introduction to artificial intelligence). Similar to the English language test, online booking is managed through the inpt.rdd.edu.iq portal. The INCPT test schedule is centralized and follows an annual calendar published by the Research and Development Directorate, with tests typically held on Mondays and Thursdays, subject to ministerial directives. Passing scores vary by academic level and field of study. For master’s degrees, the passing score is 50 for humanities disciplines and 60 for scientific disciplines. For PhDs, it is 55 for humanities and 65 for scientific disciplines. There are specialized requirements for computer science, with passing scores of 70 for master’s and 75 for PhD. The certificate is valid for two years, and the fee structure mirrors that of the English language test: 30,000 Iraqi dinars for the first attempt and 20,000 Iraqi dinars for retakes.

Unified National Arabic Language Test

The third component is the Unified National Arabic Language Test, which assesses proficiency in the Arabic language. This test consists of 60 questions to be completed within 60 minutes. The content focuses on three main areas: syntax and morphology, common linguistic and spelling errors, and general language culture. The registration process mirrors other tests, using the inpt.rdd.edu.iq platform. Testing is centrally scheduled according to the annual calendar of the Research and Development Directorate, typically conducted on Sundays and Tuesdays, subject to any changes directed by the Ministry. The passing score is generally 50 for both Master’s and PhD candidates in most disciplines. However, for Arabic Language Studies specialists, the requirement is higher: 60 for Master’s and 70 for PhD. The certificate remains valid for two years, with fees consistent with other national tests (30,000 Iraqi dinars for the first attempt, 20,000 Iraqi dinars for subsequent attempts). Important Notice: We would like to inform you that the center currently does not offer the Arabic language exam.
