On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Computer Networks and Internet Department organized the “Bachelor’s Research in 3 Minutes” competition, an ambitious academic initiative inspired by the renowned Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition launched by the University of Queensland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition aims to adapt this global model to undergraduate students. Fourth-year students were challenged to present their graduation projects and complex research ideas in just three minutes. The competition required the use of clear and simple language before a panel of expert judges and a non-specialist audience, thus bridging the gap between purely academic research and general understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative seeks to achieve a number of strategic objectives, most notably:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developing presentation skills: Enabling students to communicate their ideas efficiently and concisely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simplifying science: Training emerging researchers to transform complex technical concepts in networking into accessible content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boosting confidence: Building students’ leadership skills in front of an audience. Spreading the culture of research: Encouraging positive competition and establishing the importance of scientific research from the undergraduate level<\/p>\n\n\n\n
