{"id":5616,"date":"2026-01-19T23:42:28","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T20:42:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uoninevah.edu.iq\/law\/?p=5616"},"modified":"2026-02-04T23:43:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T20:43:09","slug":"awareness-lecture-on-drugs-and-addiction-held-at-the-college-of-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uoninevah.edu.iq\/law\/en\/2026\/01\/19\/awareness-lecture-on-drugs-and-addiction-held-at-the-college-of-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Awareness Lecture on Drugs and Addiction Held at the College of Law"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As part of a series of awareness activities launched by the College of Law, the University Psychological Counseling Unit organized an awareness lecture on Monday, 19 January 2026, entitled <em>\u201cThe Legal Status of Drug Users under the Iraqi Law on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances No. 50 of 2017.\u201d<\/em> The lecture was delivered by Dr. Manal Mohammed Ahmed, Head of the University Psychological Counseling Unit, and targeted first-year students at the College of Law, within the college\u2019s efforts to strengthen students\u2019 psychological and legal awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The lecture addressed the concept of narcotic substances, their types, and the causes of addiction, as well as the negative psychological and social consequences associated with substance use and its impact on both individuals and society.
