In accordance with the directives of the President of the University of Nineveh, Professor Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and with the direct support and supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, the University Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Law\u2014under the attendance of the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Khaldoun Fadhil, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Adeeb Mohammed Jassim\u2014organized an awareness workshop entitled \u201cHope Day for Suicide Prevention.\u201d<\/em> The event was held on Monday, April 6, 2026, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of the University of Nineveh, and was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This workshop comes as part of the continuous efforts exerted by academic institutions to promote mental health within the university environment and to spread awareness about the importance of psychological support\u2014particularly in light of the challenges and pressures students may face throughout their academic journey. The workshop also aimed to shed light on the issue of suicide and to outline preventive measures through the adoption of scientific and practical approaches that contribute to building a safe and supportive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The workshop featured a number of key themes and discussions focusing on the importance of psychological resilience, enhancing self-confidence, and the necessity of seeking help when needed. It also highlighted the vital role of families and educational institutions in supporting individuals and providing appropriate care.
