Medical Consultations and Health Services

The College of Medicine at the University of Nineveh is committed to providing the highest level of health care to its students with the aim of creating a healthy and safe educational environment by providing urgent medical care and promoting health awareness among students.

We are committed to providing educational programs and health care for our students according to international standards.

Health services include:

First aid: The college provides first aid services to students by providing first aid pharmacies distributed in the college corridors. In emergency cases, students are directed to the emergency departments of government or private hospitals in Nineveh Governorate.

Primary health care: Supervised by a specialized health team at the health center affiliated with the University of Mosul campus, which provides the necessary basic medical care for students.

Medical referrals: Medical cases that require a specialist opinion are referred to local government or private hospitals.

Medical committees include: Medical committee for postponing semester exams: The committee examines students who wish to postpone semester exams and takes the necessary action. Permanent medical committee for examining students when requesting hosting: The committee considers chronic medical cases and other difficult cases for students of all academic levels who wish to be hosted at universities close to their families and relatives and takes the necessary action.

Committee to support students with chronic diseases: The committee provides free medical advice to students with chronic diseases by volunteer faculty professors from various specializations. Registration for advice is done by filling out a special form prepared for this purpose. Students can request medical appointments either by sending an email or by contacting the volunteer employee. Immunization Committee: Provides support and information related to the immunization schedule for students.

Psychological Counseling and Academic Guidance Unit:   It is concerned with providing psychological and academic consultations to students, preparing programs to follow up on students’ academic progress, holding scientific events, and completing research related to the psychological aspect of college students and staff.
