A scientific achievement added to the College of Medicine’s treasury
An international research team, including one of our college’s lecturers, Mr. (M.M. Saif Al-Din Amer Ahmed), was able to add a new achievement to the treasury of the College of Medicine – University of Nineveh, by publishing a scientific study that includes exposing four lines of cells (brain cancer, breast cancer, esophageal cancer, normal cells for comparison) to a zero-gravity environment. The results showed damage to the DNA of all cancer cells as a result of their exposure to zero-gravity conditions compared to normal cells..
These results pave the way for treating cancer in most of its types, as the results showed that zero gravity affects both: cell vitality and growth behavior in addition to affecting the genetic level as well..
It is worth noting that the study was published in the international journal
Microgravity Science and Technology
affiliated with Springer Nature Publishing House and is included in the containers
