Ms. Naglaa Salem Mohammed, a lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, University of Nineveh, was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry for her dissertation entitled:<\/strong>
“Cholecystokinin and Its Relation to Certain Biochemical Variables Before and After Sleeve Gastrectomy.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dissertation defense took place at the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, University of Mosul, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hiyam Adel Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Science, along with a number of faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dissertation was structured around two main axes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Investigating the potential of cholecystokinin as an early diagnostic marker for morbid obesity, as well as its role in evaluating the response to sleeve gastrectomy and in reducing its complications.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Isolation and characterization of fatty acids in obese individuals and comparison with those of normal-weight subjects in order to identify fatty acids associated with weight gain.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The University of Nineveh and the College of Pharmacy extend their warmest congratulations to the researcher, wishing her continued success in her academic and scientific career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
