As part of the ongoing series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the College of Law, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held a workshop on Monday, 3 November 2025, titled “The Impact of Bullying on Mental Health.” The workshop addressed the psychological and social consequences of bullying within both academic and community environments.

Prof. Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, Dean of the College of Law, attended part of the workshop and emphasized the importance of the topic. She called for intensified efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of bullying on individuals and society, stressing that the College places strong importance on supporting programs that promote the mental well-being of its students and staff.

The workshop lecture was delivered by members of the Psychological Counseling Committee, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amro Nashwan and Lecturer Sahar Anwar, who introduced participants to the concept of bullying, its types (verbal, physical, and cyberbullying), and the key psychological indicators commonly seen in victims. The session also discussed appropriate educational and counseling strategies for confronting such behavior.

The workshop included interactive contributions from students and faculty members, focusing on the importance of cultivating a safe and supportive university environment and fostering a culture of respect and tolerance on campus.

At the end of the event, participants expressed their appreciation to the College administration and to the Psychological Counseling and Continuing Education Units for organizing awareness activities that contribute to enhancing students’ psychological and social well-being.
