In line with the directives of the President of the University of Nineveh, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and under the support and supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Zina Ghanem Al-Ubaidi, the College of Law concluded a Continuing Education course entitled: “Regulating the Transport Sector in Iraq: Challenges and Legal Approaches to Addressing Them.”

The course brought together a distinguished group of legal academics and researchers and featured lectures delivered by:

  • Dr. Mohammed Nouri
  • Dr. Maher Hussein Juma
  • Asst. Lecturer Firas Mishhal Abduljabbar

The course examined the most significant legal and regulatory challenges facing Iraq’s transport sector, highlighting the importance of developing legislative frameworks that align with the requirements of economic development and society’s need for a modern and safe transportation system.

The lecturers also discussed possible legal remedies and mechanisms for strengthening oversight and regulation in a manner that enhances the sector’s efficiency while safeguarding the public interest.

The course witnessed active engagement from participants, who praised the relevance of the topics addressed and the practical legal insights offered to support the development of Iraq’s legislative framework governing the transport sector.

At the conclusion of the course, the College reaffirmed its commitment to organizing scientific activities and continuing education programs that contribute to the development of legal skills, the advancement of academic research, and the service of the wider community.
