The Editorial Board of Nineveh Journal for Legal Studies held its first meeting on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at its headquarter in the College of Law, University of Nineveh. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Luqman Osman Ahmed, and board members Prof. Dr. Mohammed Suleiman Al-Ahmed from the University of Sulaymaniyah, Prof. Dr. Harith Taher Al-Dabbagh from the University of Montreal in Canada, Dr. Huda Salem Al-Atraqji from the Northern Technical University, and Dr. Ahmed Siddiq from the University of Kirkuk. The Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Saad Abdulwahab Issa, was also present.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Obaidi welcomed the attendees and congratulated them on obtaining the accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the journal. She thanked everyone who contributed to the establishment of the journal and reiterated her continuous support to ensure it becomes a prestigious scientific publication, wishing the editorial board success in their mission.
Following this, the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Ahmed, presented the efforts made to establish the journal and secure its accreditation from the ministry. He expressed his gratitude to the Dean, the College Council members, the university administration, and the editorial board members for their contributions.
The attendees discussed the journal’s operational mechanisms, covering various topics such as the journal’s sections, funding sources, the process of evaluating and accepting research papers, and the methods of production and publication. Several important decisions were made in this regard, with wishes for continued success and progress for all.
