In alignment with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and pursuant to the directives of the President of the University of Nineveh, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and with the support of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi,
and in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adeeb Mohammed Jasim, along with Dr. Luqman Othman Ahmed, Editor-in-Chief of the Nineveh Journal for Legal Studies, and Dr. Mohammed Nouri, Head of the Journal Unit at the College of Law, participated in the Iraq Higher Education Conference 2025 (Second Edition), held from October 11–13, 2025, at the University of Baghdad. The event witnessed a broad academic presence from various Iraqi universities.
The Iraq Higher Education Conference is considered one of the most prominent academic events that bring together Iraqi and international universities to discuss issues related to education, development, and scientific research. Within this framework, the participation of the College of Law at the University of Nineveh reflects its commitment to enhancing its academic role, showcasing its legal research, and strengthening connections with national and international academic institutions.
Among the key objectives of the College’s participation were:
1. Presenting Legal Research:
Submitting research papers addressing contemporary laws, national legislation, human rights issues, transitional justice, and other relevant legal topics.
2. Academic Exchange and Networking:
Building relationships with other universities and research institutions to foster collaboration in research, conferences, and academic exchange programs.
3. Enhancing the Standing of the College and the University:
Highlighting the College as a leading academic center in the field of law at both local and international levels, thereby contributing to improving the University’s academic ranking.
4. Contributing to Educational Policy Development:
Providing insights and recommendations related to legal competencies, curriculum development, academic legislation, and the integration of law with society and justice.
Through its active engagement, the College of Law reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and its continuous efforts to advance the standards of higher education and legal scholarship in Iraq.
