Prof. Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Nineveh, participated in the meeting of the Committee of Deans of Law Colleges in Iraqi Universities, held on Thursday, 30 October 2025, in Baghdad at Al-Imam Al-Kadhim College.
The meeting, part of the Committee’s regular sessions, brought together deans and representatives of law colleges from across Iraq to discuss key academic and administrative issues aimed at advancing legal education and aligning it with current national needs.
Discussions focused on several important topics, including mechanisms for administering evaluative examinations, updates to academic curricula to reflect modern legal developments and international trends, and the implementation plan for the Bologna Process, which will be adopted in its first phase during the 2025–2026 academic year. The meeting also emphasized strengthening cooperation among law colleges in the areas of research, practical training, and academic development.
Participants underscored the importance of collective work among Iraqi universities to support the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in enhancing the academic and professional competencies of law graduates, in accordance with global standards and in service of societal and institutional needs.
Prof. Dr. Al-Obaidi’s participation comes as part of the College of Law’s commitment to contributing actively to the development of legal education in Iraq and reinforcing its academic presence at the national level, with the aim of preparing distinguished legal professionals equipped with the skills and knowledge required to uphold justice and the rule of law.
At the conclusion of the meeting, certificates of appreciation were presented to the attendees in recognition of their valuable contributions and active participation.
