In line with the directives of the President of the University of Nineveh, Professor Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and with the direct support of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Zeina Ghanem Al-Obaidi, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Law, organized an awareness campaign on Sunday, 18 January 2026, targeting first-year students. The initiative was held as part of the college’s efforts to promote human values and foster a university environment based on awareness and mutual understanding, under the theme “Through Tolerance We Rise.”

The campaign included an awareness lecture delivered by Dr. Manal Mohammed Ahmed, Head of the University Psychological Counseling Unit, alongside liaison members Dr. Saad Abdulwahab Issa and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Khalaf Fandi. The lecture addressed the concept of tolerance and the importance of instilling its spirit among students as a fundamental pillar for building a cohesive university community grounded in mutual respect, free from bias based on origin, sect, or other affiliations.

During the campaign, a set of informational brochures was distributed, featuring advisory messages that highlighted the culture of tolerance, acceptance of others, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence. These efforts aim to support students’ psychological well-being and prepare them for positive integration into university life.

Organizers emphasized that such initiatives form part of an ongoing series of counseling activities designed to raise students’ psychological and social awareness and encourage positive behaviors that reflect on both their academic and personal development. They also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the Psychological Counseling Unit and the Media and Government Communication Division to achieve the intended awareness goals.

At the conclusion of the campaign, the event received positive engagement from students, who expressed their appreciation for initiatives that promote a culture of tolerance and strengthen a spirit of unity within the university campus.
