The College of Law at the University of Nineveh was established in 2020 with the aim of preparing a generation of legal professionals to contribute to the advancement of the legal profession. It is one of the newly established colleges at the University of Nineveh, commencing operations in the 2020-2021 academic year. The college focuses on legal studies and university-level teaching of these disciplines, working alongside other law faculties in Iraqi universities. It strives to elevate the academic and legal landscape in Nineveh Governorate and throughout Iraq. The college also seeks to forge effective partnerships with the community at all levels, remaining open to collaboration with all governmental bodies, international organizations, and civil society organizations in all matters that serve its academic and intellectual objectives.
The college also strives to contribute to community service through continuous interaction between the college and the surrounding environment and society. This interaction aims to disseminate cultural, social, legal, and scientific awareness through various means, such as seminars, continuing education courses, exhibitions, lectures, educational projects, and the like.
Despite its relatively recent establishment, the college boasts a distinguished faculty with a proven track record of scientific excellence. These faculty members hold degrees from prestigious universities both within and outside Iraq and have extensive experience in teaching and applied legal practice. Therefore, they possess excellent academic and practical expertise. In addition, the administrative staff is trained according to the highest modern administrative standards, utilizing electronic technologies to meet the college’s academic and administrative needs.
The College of Law seeks to be a leader in legal education, both theoretically and practically, in accordance with successful educational standards, in order to prepare lawyers capable of serving their community with excellence and professionalism, leading to a more just society.
University life at the Faculty of Law is characterized by its rigor and organization, where students receive in-depth studies in legal systems and laws. They develop critical thinking and legal analysis skills through case studies and participation in discussions. It also encourages the development of research abilities and staying informed about the latest legislation and legal applications.
