Technology Incubator

Within the framework of the University of Nineveh’s efforts to support and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic institution in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, and in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Research and Development, the Technology Incubator Unit was established at the College of Pharmacy as part of the University Business Incubators Network, which has been adopted as a comprehensive national program aimed at supporting all Iraqi public universities.

Through this program, the Unit seeks to provide a supportive environment that enables students, researchers, and graduates to develop their creative ideas and transform them into productive and sustainable projects that contribute to strengthening a knowledge-based national economy.

Methods Adopted to Achieve the Unit’s Objectives

To position the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Pharmacy as a leading and stimulating environment for innovation, applied research, and entrepreneurship, contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical industries, the improvement of healthcare services, and the transformation of creative ideas generated by students, graduates, and researchers into implementable projects that support the national economy and strengthen the healthcare system in Iraq.
  1. Promoting a culture of scientific research and innovation within the College and linking it to community and industrial healthcare needs.
  2. Incubating entrepreneurial ideas and projects in the fields of pharmaceutical industries, biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and digital health services.
  3. Supporting graduation projects and applied research in pharmacy that have the potential to be transformed into products or services.
  4. Encouraging students and researchers to develop innovative pharmaceutical solutions with added value.
  5. Building students’ capacities in entrepreneurship skills, design thinking, business planning, and pharmaceutical product development.
  6. Establishing partnerships with the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors to facilitate the adoption of projects and their transformation into tangible products or services.
  7. Supporting the University’s orientation toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of health, innovation, and quality education.
  1. Establishing an electronic platform for registration, project follow-up, report submission, and announcement of activities, serving as a communication gateway with students and researchers.
  2. Providing a well-equipped working environment within the College to support the development of prototype pharmaceutical preparations and innovative drug products.
  3. Organizing specialized courses and training workshops in pharmaceutical innovation, entrepreneurship, and pharmaceutical marketing.
  4. Implementing the “Idea to Product” program, which trains students to transform concepts into prototypes through systematic stages:
    Design – Development – Testing – Optimization – Presentation – Initial Marketing.
  5. Holding innovation competitions to motivate students to propose innovative pharmaceutical and healthcare solutions.
  6. Establishing partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, and hospitals to support the practical implementation of projects.
