Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Vision

To be a leading department in providing advanced scientific and research-based education in the field of
drug and toxin effects on living organisms, producing qualified graduates capable of improving public
health through evidence-based pharmaceutical consultation, innovative drug development, and the
reduction of harmful effects of drugs on society and the environment.

Mission

The Department is committed to delivering distinguished and advanced academic education in
pharmacology and toxicology. It aims to develop students’ skills in studying drug effects on the body and
living organisms, understanding toxicology and its diagnostic/therapeutic applications, and promoting
scientific research in drug development. We seek to equip students with the necessary knowledge to
minimize risks associated with improper drug use and enable them to provide competent pharmaceutical
consultations that contribute to improving public health and protecting the environment.

Objectives

  1. To provide comprehensive academic education in pharmacology and toxicology, helping students
understand drug effects and their interactions with various tissues and organs.
  2. To enhance scientific research skills related to studying the impact of drugs and toxins on living
organisms, empowering students to propose innovative scientific solutions in the field.
  3. To prepare pharmacists and specialists capable of offering accurate pharmaceutical consultations
in healthcare institutions and of raising awareness about drug-related risks and side effects.
  4. To enable students to utilize modern tools and techniques in studying toxins and their
environmental impacts, often employing innovative and scientifically relevant animal models.
  5. To strengthen the ability to select appropriate pharmacological treatments based on scientific
evidence, while integrating toxicology knowledge with disease mechanisms and therapy
  6. To promote scientific research and innovation in pharmacology and toxicology, contributing to
better healthcare outcomes and the development of safer and more effective drugs.
  7. To enhance social responsibility by increasing public awareness of the dangers of improper drug
use and the importance of evidence-based therapies.
