Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy

Vision

To be a leading academic center in providing distinguished education and advanced scientific research in
the field of drug development and manufacturing, focusing on enhancing drug efficacy and minimizing
adverse effects, thereby contributing to the development of safe and effective pharmaceutical products for
human health.

Mission

We are committed to training and developing highly qualified pharmaceutical professionals capable of
understanding and analyzing the physical and chemical properties of drugs and active ingredients, and of
designing and formulating medications that ensure maximal therapeutic efficacy with minimal side
effects. We provide a solid academic foundation in pharmaceutical manufacturing sciences and advancing
formulations through innovative scientific methods to achieve optimal patient health outcomes.

Objectives

  1. To train students in the fundamental principles of pharmaceutical manufacturing and enable them
to prepare and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms, such as tablets, injections,
    suspensions, and solutions.
  2. To study and apply the physicochemical properties of drugs and active ingredients to design
appropriate pharmaceutical preparations that ensure the highest levels of safety and efficacy for
    the patient’s specific condition.
  3. To achieve an optimal therapeutic index (balance between efficacy and side effects) by designing
formulations that maximize clinical benefits while minimizing health risks.
  4. To equip students with the ability to utilize modern technologies in drug formulation and
manufacturing, ensuring the development of innovative pharmaceutical products aligned with
    global scientific and technological advancements.
  5. To encourage scientific research in pharmaceutics to develop new formulation techniques and
innovative drug delivery systems that achieve superior therapeutic results.
  6. To prepare students for a comprehensive understanding of integrated industrial pharmacy
processes, from the deep knowledge of drug chemistry to the practical application within
    pharmaceutical production lines.
  7. To foster professional awareness and social responsibility among students regarding the importance
of safe and effective drug development and its overall impact on individual and public health.
