The College of Pharmacy at the University of Nineveh Convened Its First Industrial Advisory Council Meeting for 2026.

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Nineveh held, on Monday, February 9, 2026, the first meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council for the year 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Maysar Mohammed Al-Qoutji, and attended by members of the College Council, in addition to representatives of the pharmaceutical industrial sector. These included Dr. Ikram Abdullah Bashir, Director of the Intravenous Medical Solutions Factory in Nineveh, and pharmacist Ali Farouk, Director of Afaq Company.

During the meeting, the Council discussed several key issues, most notably the analysis of labor market needs within the pharmaceutical industrial sector and the exploration of future initiatives aimed at developing academic programs and strengthening integration between the academic and industrial sectors.

The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations :

  • Aligning educational outcomes with employment requirements and recent developments in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Preparing graduates equipped with lifelong learning skills, creative thinking, and the capacity for innovation.
  • Enhancing comprehensive applied knowledge in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharmaceutical communication, and marketing.
  • Familiarizing students with the requirements of industrial work and incorporating intensive practical training programs within the intravenous solutions factory for a selected number of students.
  • Supporting applied research related to real industrial challenges.
  • Organizing workshops and conducting joint research projects between the College and the private sector.

The convening of this meeting comes as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to strengthen effective partnerships with the industrial sector and to align academic educational outcomes with labor market requirements, thereby contributing to the preparation of pharmaceutical professionals capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the pharmaceutical industry.
