Two Faculty Members from the College of Pharmacy Publish a Scientific Research Article in a Reputable International Journal

In line with the University of Nineveh’s strategic commitment to enhancing its portfolio of high-quality research publications indexed in reputable international databases,

Dr. Younis Ahmed Ismail and Asst. Lect. Saja Saad Ibrahim have published a scientific research article entitled: “Green Approach Based on Micellar-Modified Kalonji Seeds Waste for the Removal of Hexavalent Chromium Ions and Methyl Orange Dye from Aqueous Solutions” The study was published in the Journal of the Indian Chemical Society, issued by the international publishing house Elsevier.

The journal is indexed in Scopus and ranked in the second quartile (Q2), with an Impact Factor of 3.4 and a CiteScore of 5.8. This research was conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Mosul.

The study investigated the treatment of water contaminated with hexavalent chromium and methyl orange dye using an environmentally friendly green technology based on micellar-modified Kalonji seed waste. The findings demonstrated high efficiency in the removal of these pollutants.

This scientific contribution reflects the College of Pharmacy’s ongoing efforts to support research excellence and strengthen its academic presence in international scientific journals, thereby contributing to community service and environmental sustainability.
