Today, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, a meeting of the College of Law Council was chaired by the esteemed Dean, Prof. Dr. Zina Ghanem Al-Obeidi, with the presence of the council members.
The session began with a welcoming speech by the chairperson, followed by discussions on the agenda, which included:
- Conveying the directives of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, presented during the University Council meeting.
- Discussing student deferment requests for the current academic year, where the Scientific Assistant, Dr. Adib Muhammad Jassim, provided an overview of the key points regarding this matter.
- Addressing the issue of lowering acceptance rates for evening study programs.
The council also discussed administrative matters within the college, where the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Saad Abdulwahab, presented a study on merging classrooms based on the report from the Department of Construction and Projects.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the memorandum for the General Branch and the minutes from the Scientific Committee meeting regarding the granting of academic titles to new faculty members.
Furthermore, updates to the elective curricula were discussed to align with the technological advancements and developments occurring in today’s world.
Dr. Al-Obeidi emphasized the importance of distinguishing the College of Law in both scientific and administrative aspects and the necessity of providing all essential resources to ensure academic rigor in line with the directives of our esteemed Ministry and in compliance with legal regulations.
In conclusion, the Dean praised the valuable efforts of the faculty and administrative members in supporting the educational journey for our college and our beloved country, wishing for success from Allah.
