University of Nineveh Celebrates Student Achievements: Launch of the First Student Forum to Present Graduation Projects of the Inaugural Class of the College of Pharmacy


In a scientific initiative aimed at showcasing the research output of its students and strengthening academic and scientific partnerships with peer institutions, the College of Pharmacy at the University of Nineveh held its First Student Forum on Monday, June 2, 2025, dedicated to the presentation and evaluation of graduation projects by the college’s first graduating class. This significant academic event served as a dynamic platform where students presented the outcomes of their research efforts before specialized scientific committees. Reflecting the spirit of academic openness and collaboration, and in line with established partnership agreements, the evaluation committees included distinguished faculty members from the University of Mosul and the University of Duhok, in addition to faculty members from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Nineveh. The scientific committees were composed of the following esteemed academics:

The graduation projects demonstrated a rich diversity in topics and disciplines, covering innovative and up-to-date subjects in medical, pharmaceutical, and chemical sciences, among other related fields. These projects not only highlighted the students’ advanced academic and practical competencies but also reflected the college’s commitment to aligning with the latest global scientific developments in pharmacy and health sciences.

The forum commenced with an inspiring address by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Maisar Mohammed Ali Al-Qutaji, who reflected on the college’s journey since its establishment, culminating in the graduation of its first cohort of students. Dr. Al-Qutaji expressed his pride in the students’ accomplishments, emphasizing that this milestone is not an endpoint, but rather a promising beginning toward successful professional and scientific careers.

Following the opening remarks, the graduates took the Professional Oath in a solemn and symbolic moment, underscoring their commitment to the ethical standards of the profession. The event also featured an awards ceremony honoring the top-performing students of the 2023–2024 academic year, recognizing their outstanding academic achievements.

Adding a ceremonial and symbolic dimension, the forum included the “Beta Blocker Shield” handover—an annual tradition symbolizing the passing of responsibility and leadership from the graduating fifth-year students to their fourth-year peers, reinforcing a culture of continuity, volunteerism, and excellence.

The forum concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the members of the scientific committees in recognition of their invaluable contributions and objective evaluation of the student projects, which played a vital role in the success of this important academic event.
