Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Maisar Mohammed Ali Al-Qutaji, and within the framework of the strategic directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the College of Pharmacy announced the completion of the implementation phases of the solar energy system project on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to transition towards clean energy and to meet the operational requirements of the college’s educational and research laboratories.
Solar panels have been installed on the rooftop of the college building to provide a safe and alternative energy source for the scientific laboratories, aligning with global trends aimed at reducing reliance on conventional, polluting energy sources. Additionally, the corridors of the college have been equipped with solar-powered lighting systems.
This project reflects the college’s commitment to adopting sustainable environmental standards and reducing dependence on conventional electricity. It also aligns with key criteria used in global university sustainability rankings, such as the UI GreenMetric Ranking, which emphasizes the utilization of renewable energy and the sustainable management of resources by academic institutions.
