As part of its commitment to strengthening experiential learning and aligning academic outcomes with the needs of the pharmaceutical industry, the College of Pharmacy at Ninevah University organized an educational field trip for its top-performing students to the manufacturing facilities of Dubai Pharmaceutical Industries in Samarra, Salah Al-Din Governorate, on Monday, 5 July 2026. The visit was conducted under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Maysar Mohammed Al-Qutji, with follow-up by Dr. Ghaida Saad, and in cooperation with the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate.
The visit coincided with the attendance of the President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Haider Fouad Al-Sayegh, Dr. Khalid Burhan, Director General of the Salah Al-Din Health Directorate, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Health. Their presence added significant scientific and professional value to the event and strengthened collaboration between academic institutions and the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
During the visit, the students toured the factory’s various production units, where they gained first-hand insight into the pharmaceutical manufacturing process. They were introduced to production equipment and machinery, quality control laboratories, raw material storage facilities, and the procedures for the storage, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products in accordance with internationally recognized standards. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to experience the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and to better understand the requirements and practices of the modern pharmaceutical industry.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Dean of the College expressed his sincere appreciation to all the institutions that contributed to the organization and success of this educational initiative. He particularly acknowledged the cooperation of Dubai Pharmaceutical Industries and the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, emphasizing the importance of continuing such high-quality educational visits to enhance students’ practical skills, broaden their professional experience, and strengthen the integration of academic learning with industrial practice.
