Faculty Members from the College of Pharmacy at Ninevah University Publish a Scientific Research Article in a Prestigious International Journal Indexed in Scopus.

In line with the strategic vision of Ninevah University to promote scientific excellence and enhance the quality of academic publishing in international databases, and as part of the continuous efforts of the College of Pharmacy to support scientific research and advance scholarly output, a number of faculty members from the College of Pharmacy have successfully published a scientific research article in a reputable international journal classified within the first quartile (Q1) and indexed in Scopus. The article was published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, published by Elsevier.

The research was entitled:

“Ethnopharmacological Validation of the Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic and Antioxidant Activities of Myrtus communis L. Leaf Extracts”

The study was conducted by the following researchers:

  • Lecturer Dr. Abeer Mansour Abdulrasool
  • Assistant Lecturer Firas Salah Hassan
  • Lecturer Dr. Najat Amin Saeed
  • Lecturer Dr. Eman Alaa Al-Din Ramadan

The research aimed to provide ethnopharmacological validation of the anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant activities of Myrtus communis L. leaf extracts, in addition to investigating the relationship between phenolic composition and pharmacological activity using advanced analytical techniques and experimental biological models.

The findings demonstrated the superiority of the ethyl acetate extract, which is rich in flavonoid compounds, particularly kaempferol, in exhibiting promising pharmacological effects compared with the other extracts. These results highlight the potential application of such extracts in future pharmacological studies and therapeutic developments.

This scientific achievement represents a valuable addition that contributes to strengthening the academic and research standing of the College of Pharmacy and enhancing the research profile of Ninevah University, reflecting the advanced academic and research capabilities of its faculty members and their active presence in internationally recognized scientific journals.
