Coinciding with the commissioning of a modern ELISA device supplied by Thermo Fisher Scientific at the College, and within the framework of the Continuing Education Unit’s activities aimed at enhancing the scientific and research skills of faculty members, the College of Pharmacy organized a specialized scientific lecture entitled “Principles and Mechanisms of the ELISA Technique.”
The lecture was held on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Maysar Mohammed Al-Qoutji, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Saad Al-Diwehji.
Delivered by Lecturer Mustafa Ghanem, the session provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles underlying the ELISA technique, which is widely recognized as a modern bioanalytical method for the qualitative and quantitative detection of proteins and antibodies. The lecture also addressed key laboratory procedures, methodologies for ensuring high-precision assay performance, and highlighted its major applications in medical diagnostics and laboratory analysis. Furthermore, the discussion emphasized the pivotal role of ELISA in supporting advanced scientific research.
This activity forms part of the College’s ongoing efforts to keep pace with contemporary scientific advancements and to strengthen the competencies of its academic staff in utilizing advanced laboratory technologies, thereby contributing positively to the quality of education and scientific research within the institution.
