The Dean of the College of Information Technology at Ninevah University chairs a PhD Dissertation discussion on security of Internet of Things (IoT) services using DNA computing

On Sunday, 22 of December, 2024, Prof. Dr. Manar Younis Kashmoola, Dean of the College of Information Technology at Ninevah University, chaired a PhD dissertation committee at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul.

The dissertation, titled “Developing a Secure Model for Internet of Things Services Based on DNA Computing,” was presented by the researcher Saadoun Hussein Abdullah.

The study addressed the design of an innovative security framework comprising four essential stages: data collection, encryption, secure storage and synchronization, and management via cloud computing. The research utilized lightweight algorithms inspired by the properties of DNA computing, aiming to enhance the security and reliability of IoT services through advanced encryption and authentication techniques.

The committee included Prof. Dr. Qutaiba Ibrahim Ali, Asst. Prof. Dr. Najlaa Badi, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sufyan Salem Mahmoud, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Adel Kazem, under the supervision and membership of Assit. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sami Nouri.
