As part of its strategy to enhance international academic cooperation and link its graduates to the requirements of the global labor market, the University of Nineveh hosted a Canadian expert for a lecture on engineering accreditation and licensing.

The Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University of Nineveh, in cooperation with the Colleges of Information Technology and Electronics Engineering, hosted Professor Othman Abdul Karim Nasser from the University of New Brunswick, New Brunswick, Canada, via online communication technologies on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Dr. Nasser delivered a lecture titled “Engineers, Practice, and Licensing.”
He addressed the most important aspects related to the mechanisms for practicing the engineering profession in Canada, the requirements for obtaining a professional license for engineers, and a comprehensive review of the Canadian experience in regulating the profession and ensuring the quality of engineering practices in accordance with international standards.
The lecture was attended by a number of faculty members and students from the Colleges of Electronics Engineering and Information Technology, who expressed great interest in the rich scientific content presented by the lecturer, which included up-to-date information and real-life experiences from specialized Canadian institutions.
This event is part of a series of activities implemented by the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University of Nineveh, aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation and learning about leading global experiences in the fields of higher education and vocational training.
At the conclusion of the lecture, the department expressed its thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Othman Abdul Karim Nasser for his valuable efforts and scientific contributions, wishing him continued success in his academic and professional career.
