Under the guidance and support of the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Manar Younis Kashmoula, and as part of scientific activities aimed at enhancing practical application, fourth-year students in the Computer Networks and Internet Department presented practical seminars in the Networks Programming course, supervised by Dr. Balqis Talal Hassan.
The seminars focused on practical applications of network programming using Socket and Python, employing advanced programming techniques such as multithreading to manage concurrent communications. This was achieved through the design and implementation of realistic network models such as a DNS Server, a multithreaded honeypot, and a real-time multi-user instant messaging application. The seminars also explored modern networking concepts such as Zero Trust Networks, Microservices Networking, and other related applications and concepts.
This scientific activity contributed to developing students’ skills in analysis and practical implementation, and enhancing their abilities in presentation, discussion and teamwork, which positively reflects on their academic level.
