In the context of enhancing practical and technical knowledge among its students, the Dean’s Office of the College of Information Technology at Nineveh University organized an academic visit to the University of Kurdistan, Erbil, on Sunday,8 of December , 2024.
This visit was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, President of Nineveh University, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Manar Younis Kashmoula, Dean of the College.
Dr. Azhar Sabah Abdul Aziz, Head of the Software Department at the college, participated alongside a select group of faculty and technical staff.
The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Christopher Breidel, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Kurdistan, who welcomed the students and accompanying staff and provided an introductory speech about the university. This was followed by a presentation by Asst. Dr. Jowand Saleh Qader, Director of the Graduate Studies Department, who summarized the available specializations at the university, including programs offered for graduate studies. He also presented an overview of the university’s history from its establishment to the present day.
The visit included a field tour that encompassed the central library, scientific colleges, lecture halls, and laboratories, where students were exposed to advanced technologies and educational curricula implemented at the University of Kurdistan.
The visit underscored the importance of encouraging students to elevate their aspirations for pursuing higher studies. At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Azhar Sabah Abdul Aziz expressed his gratitude to the administration of the University of Kurdistan for the valuable information provided. Furthermore, officials at the University of Kurdistan in Erbil expressed their desire to deepen relations between the two universities across various levels.
