On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the College of Information Technology hosted a delegation from Al-Muhandisin Secondary School for Girls, aimed at introducing the students to the college’s specializations and academic opportunities. The delegation was welcomed byProf. Dr. Manar Younis Kashmoula, the Dean of the college, along with a distinguished group of faculty members and instructors.
The visit commenced with a tour of the college’s laboratories, during which the delegation viewed an introductory video showcasing the college’s key departments and academic programs. Following this, a series of scientific lectures enriched the visit with valuable information:
A lecture on computer networks was delivered by Engineer Hani Nabil Najm, who discussed the fundamentals of networking and its significance in the technological landscape.
A presentation on software was provided by Mrs. Farah Mazen, who highlighted the latest trends in software development and its role across various sectors.
The delegation then proceeded to the Logic Laboratory, where they were introduced to modern electronic devices utilized in teaching. Engineer Sayyaf Ziad presented an informative lecture on these devices, followed by a presentation on the Arduino microcontroller delivered by Mrs. Mariam Abdul-Sattar, who elucidated its capabilities in technical applications and engineering projects.
In the college auditorium, Dr. Ali Mohsen, Head of the Software Department, provided an overview of his department, emphasizing its academic programs and future opportunities. Additionally, Dr. Azhar Sabah Abdulaziz, Head of the Computer Networks and Internet Department, presented on his specialization, noting that the college boasts advanced laboratories that rival, and in some cases exceed, those found in institutions abroad.
The visit concluded with a lecture on the benefits of software engineering presented by Dr. Zainab Saadi, who discussed the impact of software engineering on the job market and technological advancement. The administration of Al-Muhandisin Secondary School for Girls expressed their profound appreciation for the warm welcome and the exceptional academic program provided by the college, commending the efforts made to enhance communication between educational institutions.
