Under the patronage and attendance of His Excellency the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakkak Al-Badrani, and in the presence of the representative of the Governor of Nineveh, the technical deputy of the governor, Professor Omar Namiq Al-Mawla, and the President of our university, Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, and the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Al-Attar, and a group of representatives of university presidents in the governorate, and a number of department directors, members of university councils, their professors and students, and representatives of Noor Al-Bidaya Communications Company.
On Wednesday, 10/16/2024, the University of Nineveh participated in holding the second conference on e-governance in Nineveh Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministerial Governance Committee in the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, and with the support of Noor Al-Bidaya Company.
The conference was opened with a speech by His Excellency the Minister of Culture, appreciating the future aspirations and continuous efforts towards achieving digital transformation, and stressing his full support for these initiatives that aim to enhance government efficiency and improve services provided to citizens, praising the role of educational institutions, including the University of Nineveh, in developing the reality of e-governance in all state institutions.
While the technical deputy governor of Nineveh praised the role of educational and service institutions and their solidarity to achieve digital transformation to improve government performance, followed by a speech by the president of our university, appreciating the aspirations towards digital transformation, and praising the efforts made to enhance technology in various sectors, stressing that electronic transformation represents an important step towards improving the quality of education and developing academic institutions, as well as enhancing the efficiency of government services. The conference also witnessed the presentation of speeches by the head of the ministerial committee and Noor Al-Bidaya Communications Company.
The conference included the presentation of video materials on e-governance and highlighting the two training workshops presented by a group of our university professors to approximately 170 specialized trainee employees from various departments of Nineveh Governorate, in addition to presenting success stories of e-governance experiences in a number of departments of the governorate.
The conference witnessed the presentation of awards by His Excellency the Minister of Culture to those who achieved the highest results in the two workshops. For his part, the President of our University presented the University Shield to His Excellency the Minister and the presidents of the universities participating in the conference, the ministerial committee and the conference sponsors.
The conference came out with important recommendations, the most important of which are: providing communications infrastructure and providing electronic services in state departments and institutions, providing specialized human cadres, and subjecting employees working in the field of e-governance to training courses to keep pace with development and apply e-governance to provide the best services to citizens.
In conclusion, certificates of appreciation were presented to the heads and members of the conference committees, participants and attendees, wishing everyone continued success and prosperity.
