On the morning of Thursday, June 27, 2024, the University of Ninevah, represented by its President, Prof. Dr.Osama Al-Mashhadani, and in the presence of the Administrative Assistant, Professor Ammar Saadoun Hamid, welcomed the new Turkish Consul General in Mosul, Mr. Serhat Varli, along with the President of Gaziantep Islamic University of Science and Technology and their accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by the deans of the university’s colleges and their representatives, as well as the Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at our university.
At the beginning, Al-Mashhadani welcomed the Turkish Consul, congratulating him on his new position, and highlighting the strong and continuous relations between the university and the Turkish Consulate. He wished the Consul success in his new duties, hoping he would be an excellent successor to his predecessor.
In turn, the Turkish Consul expressed his gratitude to the University of Ninevah, emphasizing the Consulate’s intention to seek new avenues of cooperation between Turkish universities and the University of Ninevah. The meeting discussed potential areas of cooperation between our university and Gaziantep Islamic University of Science and Technology, which offers similar specializations to those at our university.
The President of the University expressed our readiness to open up and collaborate with all Turkish universities to enhance the educational process and student development, particularly in organizing joint scientific events, exchanging visits, professors, and students, and participating in scientific and academic research.
In conclusion, both parties agreed to draft a future agreement to obtain official approvals and activate this agreement in the service of the faculty and students of both universities. Finally, we wish our university a further success and prosperity.
