Department of Media and Government Communication

Brief Introduction:

The Media and Government Communication Department is a vital part of the university, serving as its interface to the outside world. It plays a crucial role in covering and highlighting all the activities and events of the University of Nineveh, ensuring their funding, which often falls within the administrative routine of university institutions. This allows everyone to stay informed about the University of Nineveh’s activities and the services it provides across various fields.

Department Structure:

The department consists of two sections directly linked to the department manager, which can be classified as follows:

Department Management and Director:

The department’s management involves distributing daily tasks among section heads by the department manager. Section heads, in turn, allocate tasks according to the required activities. Additionally, there is a secretarial unit attached to the department manager, responsible for administrative tasks such as correspondence, daily mail, and newspaper distribution.

Department Responsibilities:

The Media and Government Communication Department serves as the university’s media interface and is responsible for the following duties:

1. Covering various activities and events, such as conferences, seminars, debates, sports festivals, celebrations, and other activities across all university institutions, and promoting them through all media channels.

2. Coordinating and facilitating the tasks of all television channels and other media outlets within all university institutions to complete their media reports.

3. Organizing central conferences and celebrations for the university and handling the media aspects of these events through print, audio, and visual media.

4. Monitoring all media outlets for university-related matters, presenting them to the university president for consideration and possible responses.

5. Organizing required television interviews for the university president and other officials, ensuring constant presence with the media during such events.

6. Also, overseeing the human and social aspects of all university affiliates, including employees and professors, and extending congratulations and condolences on various occasions.

7. Establishing communication bridges with Iraqi universities domestically and with the Arab Universities Union through the exchange of publications, printed materials, congratulations, and condolences.

8. Broadcasting university news to the university channel, other official channels, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research website, and Al-Sabah newspaper.
