University of Ninevah Hosts a Dialogue Session for the Ministerial Committee on Culture in Nineveh Governorate Regarding E-Governance

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, the College of Information Technology at the University of Ninevah hosted a dialogue session organized by the Ministerial Committee on Culture in preparation for the second scientific conference on e-governance in Nineveh Governorate.

The session was opened by the Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Rifaat Samo, who began with a speech on the importance of e-governance in improving the quality of government services, increasing transparency, and enhancing administrative efficiency.

The session was moderated by consulting engineer Fares Abdul Sattar, who welcomed the attendees from various provincial directorates. Dr. Farah Al-Sarraj, Presidential Advisor, delivered a speech highlighting the state’s interest in implementing e-governance. This was followed by a speech from Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Jarba, Director of the Liberation Organization, explaining the concept of good governance.

Assistant Professor Dr. Farqad Hamed Abdul Rahim, the e-governance officer in the ministerial committee, gave a presentation on the ongoing preparations for the second conference, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among relevant parties to ensure the event’s success and achieve its goals. Assistant Professor Dr. Uday Al-Wattar discussed the challenges facing e-governance.

The session concluded with discussions among representatives from various provincial directorates on effectively implementing e-governance initiatives to meet the governorate’s needs.

Additionally, Dr. Mufaz Al-Inaz, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Wajid, Dr. Mohammed Ismat, and Dr. Mohammed Youssef presented a questionnaire to gather attendees’ opinions on the implementation of e-governance, the challenges it faces, and the opportunities available to enhance government performance using modern technology.
