University of Ninevah Officially Inaugurates the New College of Nursing Building Adjacent to Al-Salam Teaching Hospital

Under the patronage and presence of the University President, and upon the kind invitation of the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Ridwan Hussein Ibrahim, the University of Ninevah officially inaugurated the new building of the College of Nursing on Monday, November 18, 2024. The building, located adjacent to Al-Salam Teaching Hospital, was rehabilitated and equipped through the generous support of the UNDP and donor countries.

The inauguration was attended by Prof. Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, the Scientific Assistant, Prof. Dr. Ammar Saadoun Hamid, the Administrative Assistant, members of the University Council, directors of administrative departments at the university presidency, as well as a group of the college’s faculty and students. The event included a tour by the University Council through the college’s facilities, visiting lecture halls, laboratories, and the newly established English language lab. The council praised the advanced medical equipment and educational tools provided in the facilities, which ensure high-quality education for students.

The opening ceremony featured a speech by the University President, who commended the efforts of the College of Nursing’s administration and staff, as well as the contributions of the Administrative Assistant’s Office and its departments, alongside the Reconstruction and Projects Department, in completing this scientific milestone. The President emphasized the importance of the college’s proximity to Al-Salam Teaching Hospital, which enhances clinical training for students. He also highlighted the college’s academic achievements and the outstanding performance of its students in evaluation exams, competing strongly with their peers from prestigious universities.

During the celebration, the University President and Council members presented bouquets and gifts to the Dean of the College of Nursing. In return, the Dean awarded commemorative shields to the University President and Council members, as well as certificates of appreciation to the administrative department directors, in recognition of their significant support and efforts in advancing the college.
