He stressed the pivotal role universities play in promoting health awareness and advancing scientific concepts to address health challenges. He expressed his gratitude to MSF for its continuous efforts in this field.
The seminar’s program included several activities, such as a presentation on the history and operations of MSF in Iraq, a lecture on antimicrobial resistance by the organization’s health promotion team, and a technical session by Dr. Qasim on strategies to combat antibiotic resistance. Additionally, Assistant Professor Younis Khalaf delivered a lecture titled “Nursing Strategies in Combating Antibiotic Resistance,” while Mr. Halo Sirajuddin presented a lecture on the role of microbiology in addressing antibiotic resistance. It emphasized the importance of the rational use of antibiotics and highlighted the health challenges arising from their excessive or inappropriate use. Furthermore, it underscored the need to follow medical guidelines to protect public health and minimize the potential risks of infectious diseases.
At the end of the first day, certificates of appreciation were distributed to participants in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the success of the event.
