As part of its efforts to enhance international academic and research collaboration and expand its global outreach, the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the President of UiTM Malaysia, Professor Shahrin bin Sahib, on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the UiTM headquarters.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, Assistant Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil Mohammed Majeed, the Vice President of the University of Ninevah for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, along with other members of the University of Ninevah delegation.
This agreement aligns with the University of Ninevah’s commitment to building academic partnerships with prestigious global universities, in line with the directives of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The discussions during the meeting focused on mechanisms for implementing the agreement, which includes:
1. Cooperation in academic and research fields.
2. Exchange of students and faculty members.
3. Organization of joint conferences and workshops.
4. Development of research projects of mutual interest.
In his remarks at the event, Prof.Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani emphasized the importance of international academic collaboration as a cornerstone for achieving the university’s vision of excellence and innovation in education and research. He described the agreement as a strategic step toward establishing sustainable relationships with global universities.
For his part, the President of UiTM expressed his pleasure in signing the agreement with the University of Ninevah, highlighting his anticipation of a fruitful and enduring partnership between the two institutions. Additionally, Assistant Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil Mohammed Majeed, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, praised this initiative, reaffirming the Iraqi Cultural Mission’s support in Malaysia to strengthen cooperation between Iraqi and Malaysian universities, contributing to the international advancement of Iraqi higher education.
The agreement aims to open new horizons for collaboration between the two universities, enhancing the quality of academic programs and fostering a research-friendly environment in alignment with Iraq’s national goals for advancing higher education.
The signing ceremony concluded with a group photo session and an exchange of commemorative shields between the two parties.
