The Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah Participates in the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate Conference to Support the Pharmaceutical Industry

Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, and in the presence of representatives from various ministries and the private sector,

The Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mayser Al-Qutaji, participated on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in the First Conference of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, held in Baghdad under the slogan “Made in Iraq by the Hands of Iraq’s Pharmacists.”

The conference included the participation of the President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Haidar Fouad Al-Saigh, as well as the deans of the Colleges of Pharmacy from the Universities of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriya, and Al-Nahrain, in addition to a number of experts and specialists in the pharmaceutical sector.

This conference came as part of the government’s efforts to develop the local pharmaceutical industry. Participants discussed mechanisms to overcome the challenges facing the sector to ensure the availability of high-quality medicines at affordable prices for Iraqi citizens while reducing reliance on imported medicines.

The conference highlighted the Syndicate’s initiative to train industrial pharmacists, with the College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah being one of its main supporters, delivering a message of knowledge embodied in “The University of Nineveh Serving the Community.”

The conference concluded with expressions of gratitude to the attendees and a call to intensify efforts to restore Iraq’s historic position as a leader in the pharmaceutical industry. The importance of collaboration between academic institutions and the private sector to achieve this goal was also emphasized.
