In Cooperation with the Directorate of Drug and Psychotropic Substances Control, the University of Ninevah Holds an Awareness workshop Titled: “Drugs and Their Negative Impact on the Health of Individuals and Society”

In line with the directives of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, and in cooperation with the Directorate of Drug and Psychotropic Substances Control in Nineveh Governorate, and in coordination with the Department of Media and Government Communication at our university,

The College of Electronics Engineering organized an awareness workshop on wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall, under the title:
“Drugs and Their Negative Impact on the Health of Individuals and Society.”
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed, members of the College Council, and a select group of faculty members and students.

The workshop featured an informative and awareness-raising lecture delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Omar Khalil Ibrahim, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Drug and Psychotropic Substances Control in Nineveh.
In his lecture, he explained the definition and types of drugs, their harmful effects on both individual and public health, and how to avoid falling victim to this dangerous scourge. He also discussed the laws enforced against users and traffickers, in addition to addressing the physical and psychological health impacts of drug abuse, as well as the challenges and methods of treatment.

The session witnessed great engagement from the students, who actively asked questions and received detailed responses from the lecturer. The audience expressed their appreciation for the valuable insights, wishing continued success to the speaker and health and safety to all members of society
