The College of Information Technology Organizes a Training Course on the Bologna Pathway and Clarifying Related Misconceptions

Under the guidance of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, and with the direct support of the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Professor Dr. Manar Younis Kashmoula,
the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Information Technology held a training course on Thursday, May 8, 2025, entitled “The Bologna Pathway and the Bologna Information System (BIS).”
The course aimed to clarify the concepts of the Bologna Pathway, correct misconceptions, and remove surrounding ambiguities.

The course was held over three days, from May 5 to May 7, 2025, and witnessed active participation from the college’s faculty members, who showed great interest in the course topics, contributed questions and comments that enriched the discussions, and helped deepen understanding of the mechanisms for implementing this pathway.

The first day of the course began with a lecture delivered by the Head of the Computer Networks and Internet Department, Dr. Azhar Sabah Abdulaziz, in which he addressed the relationship between the implementation of the Bologna Pathway and the assurance of educational quality. He noted that achieving international recognition of Iraqi degrees is one of the primary objectives behind the Ministry of Higher Education’s adoption of this pathway.

On the second day, the Head of the Registration Division, Dr. Haneen Talal Jasim, presented a comprehensive explanation of how to design academic programs and develop curriculum plans and course units in accordance with the Bologna Pathway requirements. She emphasized the importance of academic structure in the successful implementation of the system.

On the third day, the Head of the Quality Assurance Division, Dr. Hudhaifa Luay Muhammad Amin, delivered a detailed presentation on the BIS electronic system adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education. He explained how it works and its role in managing the accounts of faculty members, administrators, and examination committees within the Bologna framework.

At the conclusion of the course, participants expressed appreciation for the efforts made in organizing it. They emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives, which contribute to raising academic and administrative awareness of the Bologna Pathway and enhancing institutional performance quality in line with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
