As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance scientific knowledge and keep up with the latest research developments, and within the activities of the Continuing Education Unit at the college,
the College of Pharmacy at the University of Ninevah organized an important scientific lecture on Sunday, June 1, 2025, for its staff, titled:
“PCR-based Technique Revolutionizing in Medical Application and Drug Development.”
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Rafah Amir Khudhur, who thoroughly discussed the pivotal importance of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology and its growing role in the accurate diagnosis of viral and bacterial infections (as a cornerstone in the detection of COVID-19), monitoring drug responses at the genetic level, and forensic applications in DNA identification.
She also shed light on the promising future of this technique, especially when integrated with artificial intelligence programs, heralding an unprecedented revolution in scientific research, clinical applications, and pharmaceutical development.
This lecture comes as part of a series of scientific activities organized by the college to enrich knowledge and develop the research capabilities of its members.
