Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, President of the University of Ninevah, and in cooperation with the American University in Baghdad, the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University of Ninevah organized a specialized two-day training workshop on Sunday, September 21, 2025, entitled:
“Occupational Health and Safety Management System and Quality Management System in Healthcare Institutions.”
The workshop was attended by several members of the University Council, the Dean of Al-Qabas University College, as well as staff from various departments and divisions of Quality Assurance and University Performance.
The workshop commenced with a speech by the University President, in which he highlighted the importance of implementing occupational health and safety management systems in healthcare and educational institutions. He emphasized the necessity of adhering to quality standards to achieve outstanding institutional performance and enhance the services provided.
On his part, the Acting Representative of the American University in Lebanon expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between the two universities, affirming the importance of exchanging expertise in the fields of quality and occupational safety. He noted that such cooperation strengthens institutional performance and aligns with global developments in these areas.
The workshop lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud, Professor of Quality Management and Academic Accreditation at the American University in Baghdad. He covered several key topics, including:
• Fundamental principles of quality systems in healthcare institutions
• Implementation of occupational safety standards according to international systems
• Mechanisms of evaluation, accreditation, and ensuring the sustainability of quality
At the end of the first day of the workshop, the University President presented a shield of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of his valuable efforts. Professor Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani also received a shield of appreciation from the organizing committee in gratitude for his patronage and support of this training workshop.
Attendees expressed their benefit from the workshop’s content and hoped for the continuation of such specialized activities that contribute to enhancing institutional performance. The University Presidency reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting development and training programs, wishing all participants continued progress and success.
