The University of Ninevah Volunteer Team was honored by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, during the activities of the First Conference on Volunteer Work. The event was held under the patronage and supervision of the Minister and organized by the Department of Student Activities and the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus. It took place at Al-Hakim Hall, University of Baghdad, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The conference witnessed wide participation from volunteer teams representing various public Iraqi universities. During the event, the top fifty volunteer teams at the national level were honored, as His Excellency the Minister presented commemorative shields in appreciation of their efforts in promoting the culture of volunteerism and serving both the academic and humanitarian community.
On this occasion, the Director of the Student Activities Department at the University of Ninevah, Dr. Tamara Riyadh Thannon, presented, on behalf of the university and its volunteer team, a symbolic shield to His Excellency the Minister in recognition of his continuous support for youth initiatives that aim to build an active and engaged academic community.
This recognition crowns the ongoing efforts of the Ninevah Volunteer Team in implementing humanitarian activities and initiatives both within and outside the university, reflecting the spirit of belonging and national responsibility among the students of the University of Ninevah.
