As part of the directives of the President of the University of Ninevah, Prof. Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, to prepare students psychologically and physically, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Electronics Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khalid Khalil Mohammed, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Electronics Engineering / Department of Biomedical Engineering organized an awareness workshop entitled “Enhancing the Mental Health of University Students” on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Omama Qasim Fathi and targeted first-year students. It focused on introducing them to the importance of psychological awareness during the university stage and on mechanisms for dealing with the pressures that may accompany the beginning of their academic journey.
The workshop addressed a set of contemporary topics, including:
• The impact of the digital learning environment on mental health.
• The role of organizing daily habits in improving focus and energy levels.
• Building “psychological resilience” to face academic challenges and university life requirements efficiently.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion that encouraged students to ask questions and share their early experiences in the university environment, contributing to enhancing their sense of reassurance and psychological stability during their first academic year.
