Mr. Omar Rashid Hashim Al-Barzanchi, a staff member in the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, obtained his Master’s degree in Information and Libraries on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, for his thesis entitled:
“The Digital Divide Among the Academic Staff at the University of Mosul and Its Impact on Accomplishing Scientific Research – A Case Study.”
The defense took place at the College of Arts – University of Mosul, in Ibn Al-Atheer Hall, in the presence of a number of faculty members and researchers.
The thesis examined the level of the digital divide among the academic staff at the University of Mosul and highlighted the impact of available technological infrastructure and technical skills on the quality of scientific research. It also explored the major challenges hindering the optimal use of modern technologies within the university environment and presented several proposals supporting the path toward digital transformation in academic institutions.
The researcher delivered a scientific presentation in which he explained his research methodology and key findings, while the discussion committee provided comments that contributed to enhancing the scholarly value of the thesis.
