University of Ninevah Hosts the Periodic Meeting of the National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance and the Subcommittee for Academic Affairs Affiliated with the Prime Minister’s Office

Under the patronage of the Prime Minister’s Office and the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of Ninevah hosted on Thursday morning, December 25, 2025, the periodic meeting of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, along with the Subcommittee for Academic Affairs. The meeting was held at the University Presidency on the right bank of the city of Mosul (Al-Jawsaq), with the participation of a distinguished group of governmental and academic leaders and administrators.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Haider Al-Saadi, Head of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance at the Prime Minister’s Office; Dr. Muzahim Al-Samarrai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education; Dr. Fares Mahdi Alwan, Director General of the Private Education Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and Dr. Mousa Jaafar Radi, Head of the Subcommittee for Academic Affairs. The meeting was also attended by a number of presidents of public and private universities and their assistants, in addition to members of the relevant committees. The forum further witnessed the presence of the Director of the Shiite Endowment in Nineveh, leaders from the Popular Mobilization Forces, and several prominent academic figures.

The guests were received by the Assistant President of the University of Ninevah for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed, representing the President of the University, Professor Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the development of academic performance and the expansion of partnerships among educational institutions were discussed, with the aim of enhancing the services provided to the community. The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs reviewed the most prominent pioneering community initiatives implemented by the University of Ninevah, which contributed to strengthening national cohesion and serving the community. He praised their positive impact in addressing societal issues through rigorous academic studies and scientific consultations.

For his part, the Advisor emphasized the necessity of preparing a clear strategic plan for the activities and events carried out by universities, focusing on the development of scientific and consultative services offered to the community. The meeting also included presentations of various community activities and programs implemented by Iraqi universities, reflecting their commitment to playing an effective developmental role in serving citizens and institutions.

At the conclusion of the forum, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs honored the participating attendees in appreciation of their active role and contribution to the success of the meeting, as well as the resulting recommendations and proposals that are expected to support the committees’ tasks and enhance their performance in line with the needs and requirements of the community.
