The Sustainable Security Forum was inaugurated today, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the University of Mosul, under the patronage of the Office of the Prime Minister, the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in cooperation with the Security Media Cell, the Ministry of Interior, and the Popular Mobilization Commission.
The University of Nineveh was represented at the forum by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Jaafar Ramadan Mohammed. This forum comes within the framework of universities’ efforts to strengthen partnership between academic and security institutions in order to confront the rapidly evolving digital challenges.
The forum aimed to shed light on the employment of computer technologies and artificial intelligence in the field of cybersecurity and security applications, in an effort to consolidate the concept of sustainable security. This was achieved through discussing mechanisms for using smart technologies in the early detection and handling of digital threats, as well as developing supportive software tools to enhance information sovereignty and protect national infrastructure from cyber intrusions, in a manner that serves the requirements of Iraqi national security.
