Interactive Discussion Sessions in “Molecular Medical Biology” to Enhance Research Skills of First-Year Students

As part of the scientific activities of the College of Medicine at the University of Ninevah for the academic year 2025–2026, the Medical Biology Unit / Anatomy Department organized a series of scientific discussion sessions for first-year students within the course Molecular Medical Biology, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Fadhil Abdul-Majeed.

The sessions involved the distribution of diverse scientific topics among students, a number of whom participated in research, preparation, presentation, and moderating discussions inside the classroom. This educational experience allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in an interactive manner and contributed to the development of their presentation and scientific communication skills.

Students expressed their appreciation for this experience due to the direct interaction it provided and the modern learning approaches it adopted, which differ from traditional teaching methods. These activities aim to enhance scientific and research awareness, foster a sense of academic responsibility, and diversify teaching and learning methods in line with the requirements of contemporary medical education.
