Under the patronage of the University of Ninevah and in cooperation with Harvest of Light Organization for Education Development, the activities of the Third International Exhibition of Innovation and Invention in Nineveh Province were inaugurated on Thursday under the slogan “Iraq’s Innovators in the Realm of Umm al-Rabee‘ain”, at the hall named after Professor Dr. Khalil Hassan Sayyid Mar‘i.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the University of Ninevah, Professor Dr. Osama Ismail Al-Mashhadani, along with the deans of colleges and a number of researchers, inventors, and participants, in a scientific event that reflected the spirit of creativity and excellence that characterizes the province.
During his tour of the exhibition halls, the University President reviewed a number of innovative projects and scientific inventions presented by the inventors. He listened to detailed explanations of their ideas and mechanisms of implementation, praising the efforts exerted in transforming knowledge into practical solutions that contribute to serving the community and enhancing development pathways.
He also honored a number of inventors, participants, and attendees in recognition of their scientific contributions and active participation, and in support of the culture of innovation, which represents a fundamental pillar in building a knowledge-based economy.
The exhibition included lectures delivered by Professor Dr. Khalil Hassan Sayyid Mar‘i, Professor Emeritus at the University of Nineveh; Professor Dr. Halima Jaber Mohammed from Uruk University; and Professor Dr. Walid Farman from University of Baghdad.
The University President affirmed that the University of Ninevah continues to embrace creative talents, support scientific initiatives, and open avenues of cooperation with institutions that foster innovation, thereby strengthening the University’s position as a nurturing environment for creativity and a platform for launching pioneering projects that contribute to Iraq’s scientific and technological advancement.
This exhibition comes as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of research and invention, and to encourage national competencies to present their scientific outputs in forums that connect academic knowledge with the requirements of developmental reality.
