The Student Activities Department at the University of Ninevah made a remarkable appearance in the Universities Challenge and Creativity Competition 2026, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event saw the participation of more than forty universities from across Iraq and took place from April 26 to April 30, hosted by Al-Noor University and the University of Ninevah.
The Rover Scouts and Girl Guides team of the University of Ninevah achieved a significant accomplishment by winning the Shield for Best Documentary Work in the category of History, Heritage, and Culture for their project titled “A Minaret from Beneath the Rubble… The Story of Al-Hadba.” The work presented a humanistic and historical portrayal of Mosul’s symbolism and resilience.

This achievement was supervised by Scout Leader Mr. Amer Aoun Al-Din Mohammed, Head of the Scouting Activities Division.
This victory reflects the ability of the students of the University of Ninevah to employ memory and history in producing creative works that express the identity and spirit of the city, affirming their distinguished presence in academic and cultural forums.
